Greg Park

A genuine monster

A genuine monster

Greg Park has no formal training in criticism or audio production, and thus is manifestly unqualified to participate in a podcast like Reality Alternative.

However, as a very, very old Millennial, Greg feels that lack of qualifications or training should be no impediment to confidently shouting one's opinions into the internet. And as a very, very young Gen Xer, he thinks that generational stereotypes are, like, just, such total bullshit, man.

Outside of the interests he refuses to shut up about on the podcast, Greg enjoys cooking, fashion, and contemplating the limitless void that permeates us and to which we shall all one day return, driven by an inevitability so complete as to be an element in physics equations, and yet so terrifying that every human act is a denial of it; a denial of the fact that the nothingness where we were before we were born, and where we'll be after we die is the same nothingness that sits between the molecules that make up our cells and sits between the atoms that make up the molecules, and between the quarks and the neutrinos and if the distances between them are so much greater than the space they occupy then what are we and where are we and were we ever here

Greg lives in Annapolis, Maryland, with his wife and daughter. In shirts, shoes, and commas, he prefers oxfords.

Andrew Coons

Because one of us needs a heart

Andrew Coons is a man of few talents, hence why he started a podcast. Perpetually the last one off to bed because he needs to reiterate some crackpot theory concerning the nature of The Force or is in a heated argument about what subgenre of metal best categorizes Cattle Decapitation (it’s progressive death metal now, for the record), Andrew decided that the world needed to hear his and Greg’s overthought opinions and theories about all things nerd-related. Hence Reality Alternative was born.

Andrew lives in Norristown, PA with his wife and two cats. Besides the genre fiction, video games, and heavy metal you’ve heard him talk about, Andrew also has a passion for food, cooking, beer, brewing, education, and history. But mostly anything that lets him feel like a wizard.
